LAST WEEK

Ok, so I am so excited that this is the last week that we have to write a blog for this class. I liked the blog thing because we got to know a little more about each other and learned about our interests. Since my blog is about fashion, I thought why not talk about the fashion of the people in our class this semester.

We have some pretty interesting people in class, but this is going to be a broad generalization of the fashion of people in our class. Although some people went all out with their outfits. Like AnneMarie on Halloween. I mean your makeup for your costume was awesome. It looked so real.

I thought that the boys all wore pretty much the same thing. Most wore some type of tennis shoe or boots. Then jeans or sweats for pants. Shirts varied though. Most time boys wore their sweatshirts, with a t-shirt under. But there were a few days when the guys came dressed up which was pretty nice. Logan came dressed up every day, which was cool. He totally showed up the rest of the boys. Plus, there was Garrett with his bomber jacket.

We girls had more of a variety of clothes. We wore jeans, sweats, or sometimes skirts a lot. Some of the girls came in with their camo on, which I think is awesome. I love camo, I just can’t pull it off. But then all our shirts varied. Some of us came in with sweaters, sweatshirts, t-shirts, even dressy shirts on. I love girls fashion because I love to see what other people come up with. I get jealous sometimes because you girls always look better than me. But even down to shoes we all differed. There were cowboy boots, tennis shoes, heels, flip flops, and Sperry’s just to name a few. Plus everyone’s hairstyle every day was cool to see. Some people would come in with purple streaks in their hair or curly hair. I just think its so cool to see everyone’s different fashion sense.

I am happy that I got to have this class with everybody though. I think we all got along really week and it was a very entertaining class. I’ll be sad that I won’t have a class with you guys again but maybe some of you will be in my future classes. Thanks for a great English 111.

Ugly Christmas

This is going to be one of the last posts for the semester. I figure since it is around the holidays and there will be Christmas parties I thought that I would talk about Christmas fashion. Not just Christmas fashion, ugly Christmas fashion. I know that there are things like ugly Christmas sweater parties and anything but clothes parties so here are some ideas.

If you are one of those people who likes to go all out for the ugly Christmas sweater parties, I have an idea. I saw someone when I was Black Friday shopping in a sweater like the one I am about to describe and thought it was pretty cool. Let’s say you can’t seem to find an ugly Christmas sweater that doesn’t live up to your standards, you can just make one and it won’t cost a lot to make. Just go to a Salvation Army and look at their sweaters. Try to find a plain colored sweater, like black, red, blue, or even white. Whatever your heart desires. Then go to the dollar store, find some tinsel or Christmas ribbons, or even some garland. You can take that and either glue it, tape it, or sew it to the sweater. Next if you are someone who likes to light up the party, try to find some of those battery powered strings of lights. I have seen them at Lowe’s, Menards, and Home Depot. You can take those and put them all around your sweater, but just tape them to the sweater. I would stop there, but you can always take it a step further and add more things like a Santa, a tree, or even a snowman to it. Whatever your heart desires.

If you are going to an anything but clothes party, here is a little idea for a costume that won’t cost that much to make. All you need is duct tape, ribbon, and tinsel. Take some long pieces of tape that should wrap around your waist and then take your tinsel and stick it to the tape. You may need to do this several times to make some layers for the skirt. For the shirt, you can take tape and wrap it backwards, with the sticky part facing out around your torso. Take the ribbon and wrap it around yourself sticking it to the tape. To get the shirt off of you, take a pair of scissors and cut it down the back. You can take remaining ribbon and make it a corset top by putting holes into the back of the shirt and pull the ribbon through the holes. If you feel like you need straps for the shirt, you can take some ribbon and attach it to the front of the shirt and wrap it around to make it a halter.

Those are some ideas if you plan on getting into the Christmas spirit. I hope this helps give you some ideas!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Ok readers, I don’t know if any of you watch this but I do. However, I don’t watch it for the half naked girls walking around in bras and underwear. Mostly, I watch it to see what the designers came up with for this year. If you haven’t guessed it, yes I am talking about the Victoria’s Secret fashion show that is coming up. I watch it every year when it is aired on television. I just love to see what the designers come up with to make it better than last year. 

This year the fashion show is on Tuesday, December 9^th and 10PM. I usually record it because of the fact that I love sleep and occasionally choose sleep over fashion. This year’s show is going to be filmed in London. This show is seen in countries around the world. There are musical guests that perform while the angels are walking the runway.

Anyways, getting back to the fashion part of this since this is supposed to be a fashion blog, I just get amazed by the designs that are made. It is so creative what the designers can do with a bra and underwear. They make it look so awesome and of course we are all jealous of how skinny these models are. 

I mean look at this image in particular. This girl is in a bra and underwear which is cute but then they added wings made out of flowers. I am sure that is heavy on her shoulders but it look awesome. Also, they made a little skirt out of green fabric to make it look like leaves on a stem. How creative is that? I would have never thought of that.

Another one that stood out to me is this one of a ring leader. She is in a black bra and a black higher wasted underwear then then they take these high calf boots with embellishments to make her look taller. Then they add on a ringmaster coat and a top hat. The coat drags and has almost a train. This gives her a sexy look but doesn’t take away the illusion that she is a ring leader. 

I’ll admit that I am a girl who is all about the sparkles, so obviously I am all about the Victoria’s Secret million dollar bras. They get so creative with them every year. My favorite is still last year’s bra. The color is perfect and they have that huge gem hanging down a little from the bra. It is perfect, but even the one’s this year are amazing. I give those designers a lot of credit for what they accomplish yearly.
